Math
Telling Time to the Nearest Minute
Elapsed Time (within an hour)
A.M./P.M.

Begin talking with your child about how long it takes to complete activities. Discuss start times and stop times. Use different strategies to figure out how much time elapsed between those times. Use stop watches! Introduce both analog and digital clocks.

While we are working on this new unit, we will also begin practicing our multiplication fluency. Students will start taking timed multiplication tests on facts 0-10. We recommend making flash cards and using different online resources to practice, practice, practice!

Canned Food Drive
The Rice Creek Elementary School community is working with Ridge View High School on their Winter Wishes charity drive.  We are helping by collecting non-perishable items from November 9th until November 20th.  These items will be donated to God's Storehouse.  Some of the desired food items are:

Ravioli, chili, canned chicken/tuna,  Vienna sausage, crackers, soups, powdered milk, juice , pre-sweetened drink mixes (Kool-aid etc.), peanut butter, jelly, Jell-O & pudding, dried pasta,  spaghetti sauce, macaroni & cheese, rice, instant potatoes, oatmeal,  grits, pancake/waffle mixes, syrup,  flour, sugar, salt & pepper, spices, oil, cornmeal, canned beans, vegetables & fruit (especially with pop tops for homeless clients)

We are also collecting money in our car rider line and at the bus loop on December 2 from 7:15a.m. until 8:10. Proceeds will go to Harvest Hope.  Ridgeview students will come and help collect funds on that day.
