ATTENTION PARENTS!!!! WE NEED YOU!!
CAREER DAY, March 1st
RCE will hold its Career Day on Tuesday, March 1st from 8:15 – 10:05. We NEED your help. In order to give our students as many options as possible we need you to come and be a speaker or help us find speakers. YOU are our greatest resource.

Here is an outline of the type of speakers we need:
TRANSPORTATION and other Vehicle Careers: 18 wheelers, EMS, firefighters, Police, Army vehicles, tow trucks or any others you can think of

HOBBIES and SPORTS: focus on lifestyles and leisure pursuits such as cooking, golf, tennis, sewing, collecting, motorcycling, biking or any other leisure activity that you do

Other careers: Army, National Guard, law, landscaping, doctor, nurse, painter, mechanic,  business executive, chef, real estate, or photography to name a few

We want lots of variety. We want you to bring the tools of your trade with you. Speakers will talk to classes or groups of students for only 20 minutes.

On Monday, January 25th, you will be receiving a special package of portraits from our photography partner Strawbridge Studios.  They have designed a new program called "Journey", which is a multi-year product that a majority of students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will receiving.  All other students should receive a Fun Variety Pack if they had fall pictures taken this year.  This could be a perfect gift to purchase for family and friends.  this is also an additional fundraiser for the school.
Pictures will be distributed on Monday, January 25th. We need for either the package or the money for the package returned to the school by Friday, February 5th.   If you have any questions, call the school at 699-2900.
Thank you for your continued support of our school.

We will also be using the Blended Workshop model for this unit. Students will be learning at their pace, blending technology with instruction. They will also get meaningful small group instruction, at their level, with the teacher. We are looking forward to another successful unit.

Students will start taking timed multiplication tests on facts 0-10. We recommend making flash cards and using different online resources to practice, practice, practice!
